Makybe Diva

The first time we saw a long haired Weimaraner we just knew. The way you know love at first sight. The search was on and it wasn't long before we met Australia-based Long Weis breeders Trish and Tony. Many years later our email friendship had grown and when we were invited to go to the Australian Nationals — held only every 5 years, we graciously accepted. As fate would have it — they had a litter that would be 5 weeks old at the time of our visit. The offer was too good to decline. Since importing a puppy from halfway around the world is no small feat, and since most people in the US have never even seen a long hair Weimaraner, we knew that if we were to import, it would have to be the BEST as a lot of eyes would be watching and a lot of questions would be asked.

We also know how extremely important temperament is when showing someone a dog they have never seen or heard of. Having met both parents and the breeders and with the opportunity to select the puppy of our choice we were able to make a well informed decision. Makybe Diva was shipped to California with littermate Stormy who joined his forever home in Southern California. It worked out great as the puppies were able to travel together on an amazingly long journey. Of course we became friends with Barbi and Brian who are graced with Stormy's friendship. Makybe and Stormy are both International Champions and Makybe won a Best In Show Rare Breed Puppy at the IABCA show last year. Stormy is fast on his way to obedience titles and knowing the focus and talents of Barbi he is likely to go all the way to UDX Makybe, made her field debut and is an absolute natural.

Beauty, brains, hunting ability, temperament — we couldn't be more pleased.
